i picked INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE REEF because i really like sea animals and i wanted to learn more about them, i also love to look at how pretty the oceans are in pictures and how colorful it is. in the first website they talk about helping the reef, i really want to help the reef because the animals need it and it would be nice for us to help them. the second website talks about how INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE REEF started out and what it does now.

something that i did not know about coral reefs is that they are invertebrate animals, i thought that they were a type of plant that grew in the water. coral reefs grow 4.5 cm per year, that is really slow.

My family recycles be throwing everything that can be recycled into the recycling bin and then taking it out just like the trash. my parents are very strict with that they always tell me to make sure i recycle and i guess that is good because it helps the planet and i hope it stops pollution. that is how my family recycles how does your family?

yesterday was Halloween and what we do is trick-or-treat. what you have to do is dress up in a costume and go around the streets ring the doorbell and when a person answers say trick-or-treat and they give you candy. the night before Halloween is called as it is also known Mischief Night which is when you go out late at night and pull pranks on other people, the most common thing to do is tee-pee a tree/house with toilet paper or egg a house. i was a cowgirl for Halloween this year, it is a lot of fun dressing up and going around the blocks with your friend and just laughing and having fun. i love going out for Halloween because you get CANDY and i love candy. the part that i don’t like about Halloween is that it is also a scary holiday and people try to scary you, i don’t like being scared so that’s why i don’t like that part about Halloween.

Halloween was also know as: All Saints Day, All Souls Day, All Hallows Eve. back then it was to celebrate the dead and the after life. what people did in most countries was they would make a fire to scary the ghosts away and they would carve jack-o-lanterns to also scare the ghosts. this was also a time to honor the dead as well, in Mexico the celebrate it by having a picnic at their loved ones grave and dine with them, also in Mexico it is more of a happy holiday rather then a sad one. in Australia they celebrate Guy Fawkes Eve but in America it is know as as it is also known Mischief Night or Danger Night, but in Australia they do not pull pranks like we do they have more of a dance or party at their school or other places, this is not wildly done in Australia as it is in America.

Connecticut is a very calm quiet place. it is very peaceful place to live in. wallingford and Lyme and Old Lyme are the towns where everyone knows pretty much everyone. to me Connecticut is the most  boring place ever, but it is fun living here because i know everyone and the people that go to my school live near me so that is kinda cool. Connecticut is know for its outlet malls and the historical sites. although Connecticut is a very quiet place it is really nice place to live.

 i wake up at like 6:45 a.m

i get dressed

eat breakfast

brush teeth

brush hair

put on my makeup

get on the bus at like7:25

go to school

if Tuesday i get home at 4 p.m but if it is another day i get home at about 3:00

then i do my homework

eat dinner and watch TV or go on the computer

 then i go to bed

that’s my day.
